2-Day Masai Mara Fly-In Safari from Diani or Mombasa

Your safari begins with an early morning collection from your hotel in Diani, Mombasa, Nyali, Bamburi or another agreed coastal location. You will be transferred to the appropriate airport or airstrip for check-in and your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara.

Enjoy views of Kenya’s varied landscapes as you leave the Indian Ocean coastline and fly toward the open plains of southwestern Kenya. Depending on the scheduled route, the aircraft may make stops at other airstrips before reaching the Mara.

Upon landing, you will be welcomed by your safari guide and transferred into a specially equipped 4×4 safari vehicle. Your wildlife experience begins immediately with a game drive from the airstrip toward your lodge or tented camp.

Look out for elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, buffaloes, gazelles and other plains animals. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas may also be encountered, although every game drive is different.

Arrive at your accommodation for check-in and lunch. After some time to relax, depart for an afternoon game drive across the grasslands, riverine areas and wildlife corridors surrounding your lodge or camp.

As the temperature cools, animals often become more active, creating excellent wildlife-viewing and photography opportunities. Return to your accommodation around sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.

Coastal fly-in packages generally include a morning flight, a game drive from the Mara airstrip, lunch at the camp and an afternoon game drive. Exact timings depend on the airline and accommodation selected.

Wake up surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. Depending on your lodge location and confirmed flight schedule, you may begin the day with an early morning game drive when the plains are cooler and wildlife is particularly active.

Your guide will explore productive wildlife areas while looking for predators returning from their nighttime activities, elephants moving across the savannah and large herds gathering on the open plains.

Return to the lodge or camp for breakfast. You may have time to relax, enjoy the surroundings or continue with another short game-viewing drive before lunch.

After lunch, check out and travel toward the designated Mara airstrip. The transfer may include additional wildlife viewing along the way.

Board your scheduled return flight to Diani or Mombasa. Upon arrival at the coast, a representative will meet you and transfer you back to your beach hotel, marking the end of your short Masai Mara fly-in safari.
