A Local Operator, Not A Booking Engine
Plenty of sites will sell you a safari. Here is what is actually different about buying one from us.
We Are Here, Not In A Call Centre
Our offices are in Nyali, Mombasa and Westlands, Nairobi. The person who writes your itinerary is the person who can call the lodge manager directly when a road washes out.
Your Money Is Bonded
We are a KATO bonded operator, so client funds are covered by the association's bond scheme. We send you our membership details before you pay a deposit, not after.
Nothing Off The Shelf
Every itinerary is written from scratch around your dates, budget and pace. You can change it as many times as you like before a single booking is confirmed.
How Booking Works
Tell Us Your Dream
Share your dates, interests and budget by form, WhatsApp or a quick call. No obligation and no pressure.

Booking With Grey Impala, Answered
Is Grey Impala Safaris a licensed and bonded tour operator?
Yes. We are a registered Kenyan company operating since 2018, bonded with the Kenya Association of Tour Operators, a member of the Kenya Association of Travel Agents and an IATA accredited agent. Our offices are at Epic Business Park on Links Road in Nyali, Mombasa, and Sound Plaza in Westlands, Nairobi. You are welcome to visit either.
Are your safaris private or shared group departures?
Private by default. You get your own 4x4 with a pop-up roof and your own guide, so you set the departure time, decide how long to sit with a sighting, and stop when you want to. Shared group departures are available on request if you are travelling solo, and we will say clearly which one a quote is for.
How do payments work, and is my deposit protected?
A 25% deposit confirms your booking and the balance is due before travel. Payments go only to the company bank account named on your invoice. We will never ask you to send money to an individual's personal account or to a number sent by WhatsApp, and if you receive a request like that it is not from us. Our payment security policy sets out exactly how we communicate about money.
Which countries do you operate in?
Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda, plus the Kenyan coast and Zanzibar for beach extensions. Cross-border itineraries such as Masai Mara into the Serengeti, or a Kenya safari followed by gorilla trekking in Bwindi, are planned and operated by us end to end rather than handed to a third party at the border.
Do you arrange flights, visas and airport transfers?
Transfers and internal flights, yes, and they are built into your quote. As an IATA accredited agent we can also ticket international flights. Visas and entry permits remain your responsibility, but we send current requirements, official application links and step-by-step notes for every country on your itinerary once your booking is confirmed.
What happens if something goes wrong during my trip?
You have a direct number for your specialist for the whole trip, not a generic call centre. Because we are based here and hold our own relationships with the camps, a lodge overbooking or a vehicle problem is something we resolve on the ground the same day rather than escalating to an overseas supplier.
